Girl of the Blogosphere: Navreet

Name: Navreet
City: Lørenskog, Norway
Occupation: Fashion Blogger

Who is your fashion inspiration?
I am pretty much inspired by everything around me. People I see on the street, my friends, fashion lookbooks and the blogs I read.

What is your favourite place to shop?
In Norway my favorite store is Gina Tricot (www.ginatricot.com), but I love shopping in different countries. I have traveled my whole life, and shopping is always a big part of the travelling experience. My favorite place to shop was actually in Callifornia. America has the most amazing clothes at a low price!

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
I can't really choose one. I love accesories, so I am really into trends like the turband and the over-the-knee socks. I also love the military look.

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
I am not really into the whole 50's granny-chic look. I know many people love the fashion on Mad Men, but I like being modern and I can't even think of wearing those old cream-coloured dresses.

Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog because I wanted an outlet for my creativity. I have always love fashion and I wanted to share my style with the world. I actually started out with a fashion and beauty advice blog, but then I also wanted to share my personal style. So then I started my outfit blog.

How would you describe your style?
I would say that I have a casual, yet put-together look with a hint of sexy and lots of accesories. Not too dressed-up, yet nowhere near dressed-down :)

What is one thing you are dying to buy this fall?
A beige, trendy trenchcoat that I can use for years to come in both the fall and the winter.

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
Hmm... I have absolutely no idea. I don't really keep track of how much things cost. But I bought a pretty expensive pair of jeans a few weeks ago (probably not the most expensive thing)

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?
Haha. I was actually at the mall with my friend looking at DVDs, and I saw this huge sale in a store. I came out buying a mini-skirt for 20 kroner (3 dollars)!! You can barely buy a pen at that price in Norway.

What is one thing that you regret buying?
A pair of lime green pants that I wore once and a pair of really expensive baggy boyfriend jeans that I also wore once. Waste of money...

If you could meet one person from the fashion industry/ a fashion icon who would it be?
There are so many! But I would probably choose Olivia Palermo. I love how she oozes confidence. She puts together the most amazing outfits and knows exactly how to accesorize them!

What is your favourite vacation destination?
Barcelona. Everything there is so beautiful. You get inspired everywhere you go. The people, the architecture and the nature - magnificent. Plus Barcelona has the cutest little boutiques where you can get all kinds of stuff. I love it there.

Great post - loving this girl's style and going to check out her blog now! I agree with her comment on Olivia Palermo...she has such fantastic taste but pulls it off in a classy, chic way without going over-the-top with her outfits.

I love hearing outher people's perspective on fashion. It's so intersting. As for Navreet I totally understand her dislike for the granny tend, fashion should be about moving forward, as with all things.
