Girl of the Blogosphere: Sabella

Name: Sabella
City: Los Angeles
Occupation: designer & student of life
Blog: Bravegrrl

Who is your fashion inspiration?
It isn't generally a who... everything inspires me, nature, art, movies... but if I had to pick actual people it would be David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Jane Birkin and Lisa Bonet.

What is your favourite place to shop?
Online for sure! I always find great deals on Ebay and unique pieces on Etsy. If we are talking actual shops Goodwill is probably the store I frequent the most. I don't often shop at new stores (with the exception of a trip to H&M and Forever 21 once every couple months) although in the last couple weeks I bought a great fuzzy cardi at Zara and am definitely planning on going back for a few other items that I saw and loved. The quality is amazing for the price. And they are pretty refreshing as opposed to trendy, I love those classic pieces that you know you will wear for years.

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
Long dresses/skirts and capes! I'm also loving the monochrome looks.. but I've always loved that.

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
To be totally honest, I don't really pay attention to things I don't like. If i had to say something it would be overly/unnaturally distressed jeans (unless it got that way because of use.. and yes, you can tell the difference). I'm not really a fan of Ed Hardy either, haha!

Why did you start your blog?
For fun of course!

How would you describe your style?
Eclectic, eccentric and unruly! But that might change tomorrow. I wear what I like and I like a lot! My favorite era as far as fashion goes is definitely the 70's so I am a huge fan of anything bohemian and outlandish. I also love a simple jeans, boots and tee look... there is nothing sexier than a woman in a plain tank and jeans right?

What is one thing you are dying to buy this fall?
A cape...and another pair of boots of course!

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
Definitely shoes. I have a weakness for amazing shoes. I'm not sure which pair were the most expensive though. I am lucky enough to have the time to scour Ebay for deals. I bought most of my designer shoes there.

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?
So many many things at thriftstores!

What is one thing that you regret buying?
Nothing really comes to mind right now... the only time I regret buying something is when I have to buy something because i don't have the proper attire for the event and that hasn't happened in awhile.. or maybe I just don't care to be proper anymore???

If you could meet one person from the fashion industry/ a fashion icon who would it be?
I'm not so much into the "industry". I mean I am, but what I really enjoy is the art of wearing a combination of things that makes you more you. That tells the world who you are. That being said, I think I'd have to say Karl Lagerfeld because well... he seems kooky and I like kooky peeps.

  21. awww, awww..., you're jus' "sooo, sooo, darn adorable," and "thank you, sweetgrrl!" for sabella, takin' time to do such an open interview, giving glimpse into the "wondrous window of your womanhood/personhood." :)

and, isabel, thanks to you for recognizing & giving oppurtunity for this amazing lady & talent to present her "rare, wondrous, & singular beauty" to the blogosphere world/universe! :)

with such awe-inspiring, down-to-earthness, fiercely independent & free spirit, non-conventional & non-conformist out-of-the-box thinking/mindset, not really desirous of "bein' merely proper," an underlying, guiding fashion force of "... what I really enjoy is the art of wearing a combination of things that makes you more you..." --- how absolutely awesome & "well, 'pray tell,' jus' how not to truly luv it..., truly luv her...!?" ;) <333

    namaste,
    xoxo
