It's A Double Rainbow!

Yesterday I saw this double rainbow outside my window. How amazing is it?! The sky looked like we were in for a horrible storm but then the sun came out and the double rainbow appeared.

There is no look of the week today because I am off to the coast for a long weekend. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Juicy Couture Layered Velvet Drama Torsade Necklace

I have posted multiple times chunky and layered necklaces and I think this one is one of my favourites. I love the mix of textures and colours. I would wear this with a simple on coloured outfit so that the necklace can standout because that's what it was meant to do.

Rebecca Minkoff Alligator Bond Bag

I love Rebecca Minkoff bags, they are usually young, fun, and very wearable and this one is no exception. The colour is fantastic and I love the gold strap. This kind of bag will be perfect for the upcoming holiday season and all the parties that go along with it. The strap appears to be detachable so for the dressier occasion the bag can double as a clutch.

K-Dash by Kardashian Sweater with Chain Shoulder Detail

I don't normally like celebrity brands because they seem uninspired and usually the celebrity is just being paid to attach their name to the project. I don't really know what the deal is with K-Dash by Kardashian but this sweater is really cute. I love the colour and the chain detail on the shoulder is perfect for fall. I'd actually considering buying this!

LookBook: Belt It

I've owned this sweater for a couple of years and only last week did I think to belt it. I can't believe I hadn't thought of it before. I'm wearing:

Kensie Cardigan
Belt bought in Korea
Flying Monkey Skinny Jeans
Enzo Angiolini Boots
Louis Vuitton Speedy 35

I've had the belt for over a year and I can count on one hand the times I have worn it. I think I need to bring it out more often.

Thanks to everyone who gave me photo advice last week. These photos still aren't perfect but I figure they will get better as time goes by.

Girl of the Blogosphere: Daniela

Name: Daniela Kate
City: London, UK
Occupation: Student, Columnist, Freelance Journalist

Who is your fashion inspiration?
My inspiration comes from girls I see getting on my bus to girls getting shot by The Sartorialist to film characters. Sometimes random little thoughts pop into my head and generate a whole train of thought of their own, and a brief glance at someone can give me tons to go on! I rarely see myself in high fashion shoots, I see more in the people behind them. But maybe that's because I don't have a couture budget yet!

What is your favourite place to shop?
I'm such a city girl, and I don't have the mall-phobia a lot of bloggers do; I just never go on a Saturday! Oxford Street can be a little overwhelming, but all the offshoots to it are lovely, and there's lots of great shops in Covent Garden. I also buy lots on family holidays to random English countryside towns!

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
I've decided to conscientiously object to aviator jackets! I love them, but I know i'd never get a nice enough one with my budget. I loved Mulberry's S/S 2011 grown-up girly look, and I love the 50's throwback with nipped in waists, lovely vevelty fabrics and mad, opulent heels. I've got a coat + satchel combo that makes me look like a WW2 evacuee, but I kinda like it! I love lace and I'm determined that "jigsaw dressing" is catching on: Michael Van Der Ham started it, and it's spreading fast.
What is the current trend you dislike the most?
Those transparent maxi skirts. When your mamma said no one wanted to see your knickers, she was right.

Why did you start your blog?
My friend Ike, who's pretty much my favourite person sometimes, suggested it as a way of bagging some work experience. I kept it on just as hobby, but then I realised that I enjoyed it too to much stop, and I'd met so many lovely people by this point anyway.

How would you describe your style?
Zooey Deschanel and Emma Watson's lovechild, in Paris, winking at a camera. A little homegrown, always feminine, always fresh and undeniably fun.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this fall?
Sophie Kokosalaki's sculptural heeled ankle boots with scalloped edging. In reality, probably a good camel blouse.

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
My new coat, which was was £70. That's not much, is it? I'm a student!

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?
And routinely wear? A £4.99 vest top from River Island, it layers under anything.

What is one thing that you regret buying?
A full skirted, bandeau stonewash denim dress. I'm a petite girl and I was trying to deny it by buying this even when I knew it would be too big - I look appalling in it!

If you could meet one person from the fashion industry/ a fashion icon who would it be?
I was so happy when I got to meet Yang Du at London Fashion Week, she was so sweet, humble and inspiring. I think Rei Kawakubo for the sublimity, but maybe Garance Dore for the chatting!

What is your favourite vacation destination?
Home, to Southern Italy, where it never rains, and one can go a lifetime without gloves...

Draped Wool Jacket

I have no idea what brand makes this jacket because the website doesn't say. I love the draping and I think this dark grey is a great colour for fall. This would be the perfect jacket for this time of year, it is not freezing yet but the temperature is definitely cooling. I love the way it has been styled in this photo but I think a jacket like this would go with pretty much everything in your closet.

Steve Madden Viciious Taupe Bootie

I'm really into booties right now and I think these would be the perfect addition to any closet. Steve Madden carries them in black, purple and taupe. Taupe would be my pick because I already have a pair of black booties in my closet but the black ones are great as well. I would wear these with skinny jeans or jeggings and a tee for a casual night out.

LookBook: Nothing To Wear

This past saturday I had a friends birthday to attend. I spent about an hour in my closet trying to decide what to wear. I think we all have this dilemma, a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. I decided to keep it simple and comfortable and ended up wearing...

H&M Studded Tee
Flying Monkey Denim Skinny Jeans
Seychelles Suede Wedges
vintage clutch (taken from my mom)
Swarvski Bangle
Rhinestone Ring

I had intended to post photos of myself wearing the clothes but the lighting was all wrong and I wasn't happy with the result. I attempted to retake the photos yesterday but I am not very talented at taking outfit photos myself. If you have any tips for taking photos let me know, I need them!

What do you think?

My friend Marilou over at Twenty York Street is giving away a Yola Couture dress, go check it out! The Giveaway ends on the 29th.

Aldo Hefter Ankle Boot

Shearling is definitely a big trend this season. I think shearling booties look fantastic on others but I am not entirely sure if they would look good on me. I definitely need to try them on so I can make up my mind. These look like they would be comfortable thanks to a thicker heel and they don't seem to be too high. I think they would look great worn with jeggings and and cozy sweaters.

Yves Saint Laurent Leopard-Print Cashmere-Blend Scarf

My love for animal prints continues! I saw this scarf while browsing and got a little bit excited. Then I saw the price and my mouth dropped open. $995 for a scarf?! I know it is cashmere, but still....I can buy a bag for that much money! I'm pretty sure I would never pay a thousand dollars for a scarf but I still love the print which is why I am showing it to you. Now I'm off too find a WAY cheaper alternative.

Mixx Sarah Gray Suede High Heel Ankle Boot

I know we all love to look at beautiful and expensive clothes, shoes and bags. The only problem is most of us can't afford multiple pairs of $600 shoes. I saw these booties on and thought I would show them to you here. Booties like this are perfect for wearing with skirts and the grey is a perfect shade for fall. The best part is they are only $39. You definitely can't beat that price!

Me To We Style's Jessi Cruishank Africa Tee

Many of you may know Jessi Cruishank from MTV's The Aftershow. She is also an ambassador for Free the Children and recently took a trip to Kenya, where she stayed with a Maasai family. Jessi designed this t-shirt using inspiration from her trip and traditional Maasai beadwork. The t-shirt is eco-friendly and sweat shop free and the proceeds from the t-shirt will go right back to Kenya to help other Maasai families generate sustainable income. From a fashion stand point I think this t-shirt is a great piece to add to your summer wardrobes. It is bright and colourful and the beading at the neckline is definitely unique. I also think that an asymmetrical neckline is flattering on a lot of people. Fashion for a cause, I love it!

Asos Leopard Print Drop Waist Shift Dress

We can thank my sister for this post. She emailed me a link to this dress yesterday and wanted to know what I thought about it. Well, I love it and I told her to buy it. I think it would look great with leggings or tights and boots in colder weather and I think bare legs and a bootie would be great for warmer weather. I am not a fan of the clogs they put on the model in this picture. I definitely don't think a clog works with this dress.
