New Trend: Leopard Manicures

On saturdays I normally post the Look of the Week but I am lacking a little bit of the creativity required to do that so I am taking a little break.

I recently saw two twitpics that made me freak out a little. You already know that I am a bit obsessed with leopard print. How fun is it to incorporate your nails into the fall trend?!

I lived in Korea for two years so I know all too well the fun colours and nail art they do in that part of the world. I'm just bummed that I never got the chance to have a leopard manicure like in the photos below.

@HanneliM got her colourful leopard manicure in Tokyo

@LaurenConrad got her neutral leopard manicure in Hong Kong

I think I prefer the neutral colours, although the multicoloured one is super fun. I also have to say, I think it is really important that you keep your nails short when doing something like this. Long nails + nail art = tackyness (IMO). I am dying to try this on myself but I know it will not turn out well. I am a wreck when it comes to painting my nails. Even though I do it about once a week I still have not learned how to keep my hand steady and paint ONLY the nail and NOT the skin around it. LOL. Have you guys seen any nail salons where you living doing this?

  6. That's so awesome you lived in Korea for two years! I am originally from there but was adopted when I was six months old and never have been back. I'm sure I'll make it there someday, but I'm not sure when. It'll have to be something I'm emotionally ready for. It's funny because I have a lot of friends who have been where I'm from more than me. HAHA!

  10. there are a lot of great tutorials on how to do leopard nails, just look it up on youtube or google. it seems pretty doable. i think i might try it soon actually! i LOVE this look and both of these girls' nails are awesome. i dont know if there are any places around here that offer it at salons, but i suppose it would never hurt to ask!

  17. I prefer to visit the salon and have my nails done there. I'm a wreck at such things. The neutral leopard manicure is very pretty, but I prefer it on others rather than on my hands. Enjoy the weekend;-)

  20. wow, those are crazy!! I prefer the how the spots look on the multicolored one, but i think the neutral colors are better.

I always have a hard time painting my own nails, I wish I had the commitment to do it every week!

  31. I love these nails! My favourites are the more colourful ones. I think that even though they incorporate so many different colours, they are not over-the-top. All the colours are pale enough to make the look seem quite subdued.

  32. I love the LC nude leopard look. I am almost always sporting nude polish, so this would be a fun way to spice it up.

  33. oh i like these. i havent seen anywhere near me that would do them though.

  49. I soooo know what you mean! Yesterday I painted my nails 3(!) times because every time they got smudged or I got it wrong etc. THIS would definitely be way over my head - and I'm with you on the necessity for short nails here.

  50. Very cute! No way I could do this to my nails - too complicated! And not sure this would actually fly in France anyway. The women here are more into subtle looks, so I doubt any salons would offer this type of nail art!
