Girl of the Blogosphere: Lydia

Name: Lydia
City: Near New Haven, CT
Occupation: Office work, nothing of consequence

Who is your fashion inspiration?
I get so much inspiration from other fashion bloggers -- I love girls who showcase actual outfits they are wearing out in the world that day, people who don't have designer labels filling their closets, but dress like they belong on runways.

What is one thing you always carry in your bag?
Tissues are an important thing to have. Sometimes you don't realize this until you are caught in a moment without one. I make sure all my bags have a resident pack of mini tissues.

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
I can't seem to get enough animal print in my closet, and have leopard print in nearly every imaginable possibility.

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
Mid calf skirts. I feel like only really tall people can pull them off, the rest of us just look awkward and cut off.

Why did you start your blog?
I was looking for a creative outlet and made it just for me, I never imagined having hundreds of readers!

How would you describe your style?
While day to day, my looks can feel rather eclectic, I always try to look for classic pieces and give them a quirky spin.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this winter?
Chestnut brown knee high boots from The Frye Company.

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
Black leather boots by Migliorini for $120 (on clearance).

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?
Maybe a little leather belt for 20 cents. But the least expensive thing I got that was worth a lot: a London Fog Trench coat in perfect condition for $3.

What is one thing that you regret buying?
A black and white floral embroidered halter dress from White House Black Market -- it is beautiful and was really expensive, but I've worn it once in three years.
If you could meet one person from the fashion industry/ a fashion icon who would it be?
I love Twiggy (I stopped watching ANTM after she left). I'd like to sit and have tea and listen to her tell me about her life.

What is your favourite vacation destination?
I was in Italy last spring and completely fell in love, but I'd be happy to vacation anywhere in Europe!

What is one totally random fact you want others to know about you?
Single. Looking. Know anyone? (Can't think taking daily outfit photos is weird.)

Hey – nice blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using Wordpress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck!
