Elizabeth & James Vertical Diamond Bar Ring

This Vertical Diamond Bar Ring from Elizabeth & James is the coolest thing I have seen in a while. Those Olsen twins sure have managed to impress me with their fashion businesses. Who knew they could go from Full House to serious business women and designers in the fashion industry. I love this ring because is very edgy yet understated at the same time. It won't overwhelm your look but add a little excitement to it. I love rings like this that make statements, and who doesn't love a few diamonds?

BE & D Garbo Tote

I know I have said that I am over studs...it turns out I am not. I love this bag because it is big enough to carry my day to day things and the studs make it uber cool. I also love the extra strap because you really are getting two bags in one. I have a bag that is similar in shape to the Garbo Tote and I love it because I can use it as a tote or as a shoulder bag depending on my mood or what I am wearing. This bag would be an incredibly versatile addition to any bag collection.

Girl of the Blogosphere: Rachel

Name: Rachel
City: Columbia, Missouri
Occupation: Free Loader, for the time being, sadly.

Who is your fashion inspiration?
The Paris Vogue team never gets it wrong. Emmanuelle Alt especially is just amazing, as is Melanie Huynh.

What is your favourite place to shop?
I love Maude Vintage, here in Columbia, as well as Yoox.com. Nothing's better than discount designer shoes.

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
The 80's shoulders, though I suppose they're now "out". pfft.

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
I don't love obvious logos. Why must you have "Abercrombie" stretched across our breasts? (Though I cannot say that if Chanel made a similar shirt [ironically, I hope], that I wouldn't wear it).

Why did you start your blog?
I'm taking a semester off, so I thought what better time to focus my energy on something I've been thinking about for a while?

How would you describe your style?
I'm still experimenting, but I hope it's growing in an interesting way. I'd rather be interesting than what most people think of as 'in fashion', I think, though I guess both would be cool.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this spring?
White Jeans + Cheetah Print Platforms. I still regret not buying the Ashish for Topshop pari when I had the chance. I know thats two, but they would go amazing together.

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
Probably my Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. Its stained right now, hence why I haven't debuted it on the blog, but if anyone knows any great leather cleaners, let me know!

What is your favourite vacation destination?
Back when I was 14 or 15 my Dad took me to Spain with a group of his students, and that was so beautiful. Plus there was some very cool shopping...too bad I was too young to really make the most of it.

Parker Cami Dress

This cami dress by Parker is so cute I want to wear it now. I love the print and the ruffles around the neckline. The length is perfect. Not too short, not too long. I think my favourite thing about the dress is the surprise racer back which I think is a sexy way to show of your back without being too revealing. This could be worn with heels or flip flops and a great jacket if the weather is still cool. The Gap denim jacket that I posted about yesterday would go perfectly with this dress.

Gap Denim Biker Jacket

Spring is here but some days are still cool and this Denim Biker Jacket from the Gap is perfect for spring weather. I'm a big fan of the biker look and the fact that it is made from denim instead of leather is super fun in my books. I get tired of the normal denim jackets we tend to see and I think this is a great way to add some denim to your wardrobe. This would look great paired with your favourite pair of jeans or denim short as well as spring florals. Really, denim goes with almost anything.

IRO Arki Studded Bag

This bag by IRO is pretty much perfection for a spring cross body. I don't currently live in North America and I spend my time working/living/travelling. This kind of bag is perfect for trips when all you are carrying is a large travel backpack. A hands free bag is essential for "backpacking". The colour is great and the extra pockets on the side are perfect for stashing things you want easy access to. The larger inside is perfect for carrying all the things one carries while travelling. This would have been perfect for when I was making my way through Bangkok and not to mention stylish too!

Botkier Howard St. Cross Body Clutch

I came across this Botkier cross body/clutch and I was overcome with excitement. This is a smaller version of the Botkier Howard St. Satchel that I wrote about here. I loved the Satchel and I'm loving the cross body as well. This colour is perfect for the warmer months that are ahead of us and the size is perfect for those days or nights when you don't want to carry a large bag but you want something stylish. I love the zipper embellishments (remember I said we would be seeing a lot of zippers in the coming months) and I think they add the perfect amount of fun and edge to this bag.

Girl of the Blogosphere: Elaine

First Name: Elaine
City: Salt Lake City
Occupation: Wife :)

Who is your fashion inspiration?
My fellow fashion bloggers! I love real style. Not everyone can afford YSL pumps or a Chanel bag. so I really look up to the thrift-savvy girls who can make an old grandma blouse look chic.

What is your favourite place to shop?
Right now, I've restricted myself to thrift stores and consignment stores. Mostly for financial reason but I also shop there because it's fun! You never know what you're going to walk out of the store with.

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
I'm loving the military look right now - I just hope I can find a jacket or something at a thrift store soon!

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
See-through lace tops with bras underneath, spikes, studs, exposed zippers. They may appeal to others but it's just not my style.

Why did you start your blog?
I have been following fashion blogs for a while but I didn't see anything that really stuck out to me - and nothing catered to modesty. I wanted to show people that you can be moest AND look good at the same time!!

How would you describe your style?
Classic, comfortable, practical, modest.

What is the one thing you are dying to buy this spring?
A trench coat!!!! I just can't find one within my price range and one that fits my shoulders/arms comfortably...

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
My Tsubo boots. They were $200!!!!! That is a lot of money to me...lol I did get a $40 cashback so it helped a little.

What is your favourite vacation destination?
From the places I've already been to so far, it would have to be Hawaii!!

Thakoon Floral-print Silk-blend Dress

This Thakoon floral print dress is perfect for the warm weather we shall soon be experiencing. Or some of you may already have it like me. I love the mix of colours on this dress, they are great for adding colour and excitement to your wardrobe. The print is fantastic and fun and will put anyone who loves fashion into a good mood. Especially me. I would pair this with a white blazer and booties or a white pump. Sadly the price is a little (or WAY) over my price range. But, if you can afford it, go for it!

PS1 Vs. Joie Pepper Leather Messenger Bag

Is it just me or is this Joie Messenger Bag a total rip off of the PS1? They are so similar that it is hard to argue that one was not inspired by the other. While I don't know the dates when each was released I would bet that the Joie was inspired by the PS1. As you all know I tend to lust after bags. In particular bags I cannot afford. It is a problem. While it is nice to have a more affordable option (relatively speaking) to a totally overpriced bag I don't like the idea that I would basically be carrying a knock off. Many of us fashion lovers see fashion as art and it seems a bit wrong that you can copy someones idea, tweek it a bit and then call it your own.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Flash LIttle Kelsey Bag

This Marc by Marc Jacobs Flash Kelsey is super cute. I love the zipper detailing because it adds edge without being overbearing like I often feel studs are. I think we are going to be seeing a lot of zipper detailing in the coming months. I think the blue really shows off the detail in the bag. This is a bit smaller than I normally go for so I would probably use this as a clutch of sorts or if the strap allowed as a cross body.

Elizabeth & James Ashlyn Suede Peep Toe Booties

Booties are definitely a hot trend that we have been seeing for a while and we will continue to see for spring and summer. I am loving these Elizabeth & James suede booties. I love the small details that brings them up a notch like the button detailing. I also love that they are suede. I don't own many suede shoes so they would be a great addition to my wardrobe because they are a bit different then shiny leather. These would look amazing worn with jeans, shorts, dresses and skirts. Basically, the perfect addition to your spring/summer wardrobe.

Girl of the Blogosphere: Victoire

First Name: Victoire
City: Vienna, Austria
Occupation: Student

What is your fashion philosophy?
Just do it (okay, that's more a Nike philosophy, but I think it's a good one!)

Who is your fashion inspiration?
Mostly girls in the blogosphere such as Cocorosa and Chicheroin, but also free-spirited girls like Alexa Chung, Peaches Geldof and Kate Bosworth. I also get inspiration from Magazines and music

What is your favourite place to shop?
Definitely H&M! I never walk out of that place empty-handed. The new Blue collection is simply amazing!

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
I'm really digging jeggins at the moment.

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
Not sure if it's a trend, but I thought asymmetrical eyebrows at Erin Wassan x rvca were mad ugly.

Why did you start your blog?
I've been blogging since the 6th grade, but I didn't know then about the whole blogging community and how it all worked. I only started taking part in it when I discovered some inspiringly awesome blogs (Childhood Flames was the first blog I ever discovered!) and wanted to comment and contribute my own share.

How would you describe your style?
Very casual, toned-down asian punk. I like to wear graphic or band t-shirts with skinny jeans, over-sized cardigans and sneakers a lot. I recently got a pair of Doc Martens and I've been really inspired by it and have been quite punky in my styling lately.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this spring?
Those Alexander Wang fierce sunglasses are making me drool! I'd love to find a cheaper version of them. Oh, and I'm dying to buy some more gladiator heels!

What is your favourite vacation destination?
Definitely Paris (because it's, well, Paris) and Beijing (because it's my home city and I miss it so much!)

Marina Makaron Moscow

I recently discovered Marina Makaron Moscow thanks to a post on Shine by Three. I started following Marina Makaron on twitter (you can follow her here @makaronm) and fell in love with her line of silk scarves, dresses and home interior products. While I was deciding which scarf I wanted I tweeted Marina, she proceeded to help me pick a scarf, showing me which ones she thought I would like based on my colour preferences. Now, that's what I call customer service! I ended up choosing a scarf called "Folk Face" and I absolutely love it. Yesterday I wore to some meetings and my doorman told me I looked beautiful...he was talking about the scarf.

Marina was born in Moscow and weaves together culture, folklore, and fantasy when creating the prints for her silks. Every print is incredibly beautiful and I am quite sure "Folk Face" won't be my last Marina Makaron Moscow scarf.

Guiseppe Zanotti Laser Cut Open Toe Platform Booties

I am in love with these Guiseppe Zanotti booties. The height and the shape are to die for and the open toe is perfect for the upcoming warm weather. Elizabeth & James Shirttail Tee

I'm loving this Elizabeth & James tee. I love the colour. It is not quite white, not quite blue. The oversized fit would be so comfortable for those lazy days when you just don't want to try or perhaps get off the couch. It is a great comfortable and stylish piece to add to your everyday wardrobe. I would wear this with jeans and boots or flip flops, depending on the weather.

Lauren Merkin Spring Sample Sale & Diana Rainbow Serpent Clutch

Lauren Merkin is having a sample sale from March 16th-20th. The sale will be held at their New York showroom and will feature handbags, clutches and accessories at up to 80% off. Run don't walk! I wish I lived in NYC...

On that note here is a Lauren Merkin clutch. The Diana Rainbow Serpent Clutch is amazing. I love the shape because it is classic and perfect for getting dressed up. The colour of the skin is also beautiful and it is the perfect way to accessorize a simple dress or outfit. I love that it is multicoloured and adds some fun to your wardrobe while still being a classic piece.

Girl of the Blogosphere: COSMICaroline

First Name: CMA, COSMICaroline
City: Nashville
Occupation: Student

tie-dye maxi dress from VS, vintage faux fur jacket, unlisted purple ankle boots, DIY headband

What is your fashion philosophy?
Every single one of us has a certain energy about us, containing all the pieces of those who we find most inspiring. My fashion philosophy is based around just that. Sometimes fashion becomes so superficial...and to me, how I keep myself from going there, is remembering that what I am wearing is not just a coat or a pair of shoes, but a creation of someone else's minds and hands. This makes it art. Every time I put a look together, it's taking those special pieces in my closet and pairing them with unexpected odds and ends to create my own little work of art. And the idea of creating my own piece of art every morning is quite interesting. I am not a talented painter, sculptor, filmmaker, photographer, none of that. So for me, my art is music and what I put on my back. It's my own little work derived from all the people I find most interesting and inspiring.

Who is your fashion inspiration?
I find myself extremely attracted to 60's and 70's style, always have been. Artists like Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, and most importantly The Beatles. Whether it was stage wardrobe or what they wore in a bed-in protest, I find the ease of their styles to be right up my alley and their lyrics speak to me in an ethereal way. But besides that obvious note, I adore the original pin-up girls...Alice White, Rita Hayworth, Bettie Page. Now, modern inspiration is something different. I don't tend to look at celebrities and models, I find so much of that world to be swamped with egotistical minds. For modern inspiration, I look at street style. How one girl throws all of her favorite pieces together, or how a boy rocks black lipstick and a sequined dress. It could be absolutely anything.

What us your favorite place to shop?
Nashville is swarming with beautiful vintage shops. Ever come to town, I'll give you a tour free of charge. Pre to Post Modern, the first vintage store I ever stepped foot into will always remain one of my favorites. Savant Vintage Couture on 12th, along with Local Honey are both gems. Hip Zipper across the river is small, but packed full of anything and everything a girl like me could dream of. I love spending hours and hours in a store just staring at all the tiny treasures hidden in the dark corners where the wood is rotting through to the outside.

Silver puffed skirt from H&M, striped tank from H&M, vintage scarf and sunglasses, unlisted black ankle boots, black fringe clutch and painted bracelet (gifts).

What is your current favorite fashion trend?
Well, a throwback is always fun to play with. So I've enjoyed this past 80's surge that we all got to happily suffer through with out heads stuffed between giant shoulder pads. I'm always one for faux fur, I'm on the search for a good pair of vintage Levi shorts, and I'm in withdrawal for classic pumps in a hot spring color like lime green or fuschia pink. Anything that makes me drool is a good trend in my mind.

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Curvy girls wearing sequined leggings and the liquid leggings, nuh-uh. Totally not my style. The sequins mirror your things and make your legs look larger. And with the liquid leggings, my god, let the crotch breathe please. Leave the tight for the toothpicks.

Why did you start your blog?
The blog began last May when that semester was ending and I was avoiding studying for final at all cost. I already had been looking at more popular blogs for quite some time and thinking about starting my own. Once I did, I was very shy to show it to anyone. I didn't know what I was doing, how to work with the pictures, how to submit a post, none of that. I was awful. It wasn't until months later that I started getting the hang of it. I really started actually writing what I felt, what was going on in my life, documenting what I threw on that day. I never expected it to grow like this, I thought it would remain as just an outlet for all the things I would have normally just kept in my head and to myself. Now, it's so humbling to hear what people have to say, and I am more than thrilled to share my inspiration with others.

white layered dress from a small boutique in Oxford, boyfriend blazer, black lace tights from Target, combat boots from Forever21, vintage traditional hat with pompom detail from Scotland

How would you describe your style?
I find a great piece, usually a vintage floor-length dress or a beautiful old jacket and base my look from there. I usually always begin with one piece, that on its own, if I just wore that piece and nothing else, I would still feel great in. From there, my look is a collection of cheap pieces, easily accessible bits that I've had for years and years. And if you ask my sister, she'll tell you I have entirely too many flowing globs of white, airy fabric in my closet. You can see where the inspiration comes from. So, I see my style as a vintage-inspired, classically-trained (thanks momma), kid in a candy store mess. I don't mind walking out of the house looking like I just played dress-up.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this spring?
Floral print coat!!! Preferably a rain coat. I've seen the close-to-godliness version at Savant Vintage Couture, and I've seen the cheap version at Forever 21. Hopefully one will be mine before spring is dead.

What is your favorite vacation destination?
Well, I'm going to Rome next week. My prediction is that Rome might top my list. But, I've been extremely blessed my whole life when it comes to the ability to travel. I'm a lucky girl. As a kid airports were a second home and the muffled smell of airplane seats, spilt coffee, and peanuts were comforting. Now, with college, it makes it harder to find time to get away. So whether it's a big trip over an ocean to experiencing something new, a weekend trip with a friend or going back to the same beach in Isle of Palms, South Carolina for the 20th time, I love it all. I couldn't pick one destination.

Miu Miu Snakeskin Platform Pump

I love exotic skins so a shoe made of snakeskin is right up my alley. These Miu Miu snakeskin pumps are amazing. I love the platform because it is aesthetically pleasing and makes walking that much easier. The colour is great and it allows the snakeskin to shine. I think there is no better way to feel sexy than wearing a great pair of heels and I would love to add these to my collection. I would wear them casually with jeans during the day or dressed up for evening.

Boyy Clyde Bag

OMG I am in love! I just came across this new Boyy bag for Spring'10. I love the straps and the shape. The rings on the front straps add a bit of interest to the bag without being overwhelming or tacky. The additional strap is great because you can wear the bag as a crossbody. Two bags for the price of one! The size is perfect for everyday use. I can see this hanging on my arm. I want it, I want it.

Elizabeth & James Pop Artist Shirt

People always say that every woman needs a white button-down shirt in her wardrobe. This may be true but for me white button-down shirts are BORING. So, I don't own one. However, this white button-down shirt I would love to own. Its cut is modern and the beading on the inside of the collar makes it a little more exciting. The shirt is casual when left untucked and worn with jeans but could also be dressy when tucked into a dressier pant or skirt.

Elizabeth & James Alisha Thong Ballet Flats

When I saw this Elizabeth & James Ballet Flats I wanted them immediately. I love flats for everyday wear because they are so much more comfortable than heels. The city I live in has terrible sidewalks and I just know that I would be falling flat on my face every five minutes if I was wearing heels. I love these flats because they are in between a sandal and a closed shoe. I think the open toe makes them unique and perfect for spring. I would wear them with skinny jeans, shorts, skirts, basically anything.

Aiko Zee Short Sleeve Top

I saw this Aiko Zee Short Sleeve Top on ShopBop.com and I fell in love. I generally am not a fan of the bleach on clothing look. I remember a few years ago there were these hideous bright coloured sweatsuits that had been drizzled in bleach. There was just something really tacky and very unfashionable about them. However, I love this shirt. I think it is because the colous are neutral so the bleach is not so shocking. I also love the shorter length of the shirt and the wide sleeves. This is definitely for casual wear. I would pair it with jeans and flip flops or a pair of sweat pants for those days when I don't get off the couch.
