Three Dots Stripe Tank Dress

Summer is in full swing and I think we are all happy to be enjoying warm weather. In the summer I like to take advantage of being able to wear tanks and dresses. I love the simplicity of this tank dress. It would be perfect worn with flat sandals during the day or dressed up at night with a black jacket and some heels. The stripes are great and create interest for an otherwise simple silhouette.

Winifred Grace Opaque Yellow & Brass Sunburst

This necklace by Winifred Grace is beautiful. I love the mixture of brass and yellow. This necklace would look beautiful with a low neckline, it would definitely make a statement. I would wear this with a white or black tee, jeans and a blazer for a put together day look. For night, I would wear it with a form fitting dress.

Girl of the Blogosphere: Natascha

Name: Natascha
Country: The Netherlands
Occupation: Student

Who is your fashion inspiration?

Not anyone in particular. I get inspiration from almost everything; internet, fashion magazines, fashion shows, blogs, films & series, the street, my dreams, (old) photographs & art… and so on!

I have to say I love to look at blogs from Swedish girls..

Where is your favourite place to shop?

I like to shop on the internet and I never leave H&M or Zara empty handed.

What is your current favourite fashion trend?

Wedges!! I love them and they're so easy to walk in!!

What is the current trend you dislike the most?

Clogs, seriously I don't see what there is to like about them.

Why did you start your blog?

I liked to visit fashion blogs like Fashion Toast and LisaPlace. And at one moment I wanted to begin one myself to share my outfits with others & to see what they thought of them.

How would you describe your style?

I think that's always hard to define. Most of the time rock chic with a feminine touch, but I can also dress myself really girly. It depends on how I feel and where I'm going.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this summer?

I was in Barcelona last March and I saw the coolest sandals ever at Topshop. But I had already bought a lot so I didn’t have any space left in my suitcases. I decided to order them online when I got home... but they weren't for sale online =S

I often think about them, I just should have bought them immediately!! I would still like to buy them this summer when I come across them again somehow haha...

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?

Fashion related I think my Uggs or my army jacket from Diesel +/- € 250

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?

A vintage bvlgari bag, € 1. The woman didn’t know and neither did I. Haha.

What is one thing that you regret buying?

I wear only 20% of my clothes and shoes, that’s a shame. Yet it’s really hard for me to throw anything away, I love my clothes!! *freak* =D

If you could meet one person from the fashion industry/ a fashion icon who would it be?

The first that came to my mind was Carrie Bradshaw, but she doesn't exist in real life. =)

What is your favourite vacation destination?

I really don’t know, I haven’t been many places. I loved Barcelona and Paris, I loved the USA last year, I loved to party in Chersonissos the year before and now I really want to go to Italy. =)

LaLucca Cleo Clutch

This clutch is AMAZING. It has been hand painted so it is a one-of-a-kind find. The bright blue and the touch of gold is really making me fall for this. I think there is nothing better than having something that is truly unique and one-of-a-kind. You will never walk into a bar or restaurant and see someone carrying the same bag. If I had the money and this bag hadn't already been sold I would definitely have bought it.

What do you think?

You can check out other designs at LaLucca.com because sadly this one has been sold.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Tonal Sunglasses

I love sunglasses. I am such a freak about them. I used by a million cheap pairs so I had a lot of variety. I have now decided to invest in sunglasses. After all, they protect our eyes from harmful UV rays and dust. I read somewhere that cheap sunglasses are actually more harmful than not wearing any at all. So it is important to make sure that the sunglasses you by offer UV protection. ShopBop.com didn't offer any information about the UV protection of these glasses but I did quick google search and other Marc by Marc Jacobs glasses offer 100% UV protection so I imagine these are the same. I now own 3 pairs of sunglasses and I am looking to add another pair to the collection. I love the shape of these and for "designer" sunglasses I think the price is relatively reasonable.

Tylie Floral One Shoulder Dress

I love cute summer dresses because in the heat nothing is more comfortable than a dress. I like my skin to breathe. I lived in Korea for two years and the city I lived in was the hottest city in the entire country. Something about the mountains trapping hot air in the valley. The summers were so hot I couldn't bare to wear jeans, something I would normally wear in Canada. Dresses were the only clothing that didn't make me sweat like a freak. This dress would be perfect for an evening out in the downtown (as my students would say). I would probably keep it casual by wearing flat sandals but heels would make this a perfect dressy look for a summer night.

LNA Elastic Waist Miniskirt

Skirts are a great way to dress up without necessarily being very dressed up. This skirt is a great example. It looks comfortable thanks to the elastic waist and the fabric is super fun. I love the shimmer! This skirt would make a fantastic going out skirt, paired with a tank or tee and a pair of booties or wedges.

Girl of the Blogosphere: Kirsty

Name: Kirsty
City: South East England
Occupation: Journalist

Who is your fashion inspiration?
Carrie Bradshaw - I watch re-runs of Sex and the City all the time to see what she's wearing.

Where is your favourite place to shop?
Ah TopShop never fails me! and H&M is right at the top of the list, it has everything a girl could ever want.

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
Clogs - I'm looking forward to the clog booties coming out in the Fall - cloggies?

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
I don't hate anything, however there are some things I just wouldn't try because I know I couldn't pull it off!

Why did you start your blog?
I saw an article in ASOS magazine about Rumi from Fashion Toast last year. It was the first time I had heard of a fashion blog. It opened me up to a whole new world. I scrapbook anyway, so I thought I would start my own blog to share with like minded people.

How would you describe your style?
I'm not sure I can. It's a bit of everything and really changes daily depending on my mood and the weather.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this summer?
I need to get my hands on a Mulberry bag STAT! oh and Carvela wooden heels - maybe I should start playing the lottery?

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
My Louis Vuitton speedy. I love it and I've had it for nearly four years.

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?
A 1 pound hair band from Primark - It gave me a headache.

What is one thing that you regret buying?
Clothes that I can't be bothered to try on, then I get home and they don't fit! Annoying!

If you could meet one person from the fashion industry/ a fashion icon who would it be?
Sarah Jessica Parker, It may not be her style that I admire, but she was the body that carried all those fabulous designs!

What is your favourite vacation destination?
Los Angeles - I fell in love when I was 21 and I go back every year!

Splendid Modal Jersey Flutter Sleeve Dress

I love this dress by Splendid. The flutter sleeves are fantastic and add interest to the simple cut of the dress. This dress is versatile because you can wear flat sandals or heels creating casual and dressy looks. I would probably wear it with some flat sandals and some bangles during the day.

Jamison Alession Top

One of my favourite trends is stripes. I love this top because its a bit slouchy and looks extremely comfortable. The two pockets in the front are super fun even if they are a bit useless. This top would be perfect for days when you still want to look stylish but comfort is essential. I would wear this with denim shorts or jeans for a comfortable casual look.

T-Bags Tie Dye Shorts

I think I have said this before... I LOVE TIE DYE! It's definitely not a secret. These shorts are super fun and would look great worn with flat sandals and a plain white tee for a casual day look. I would also pair them with heels for a night out but it is best to keep it simple because you are wearing tie dye on your bottom half.

Myne Addison Skirt

The colour on this skirt is absolutely gorgeous. It is perfect for summer. There is nothing I love more than a brightly coloured piece of clothing. I love colour! I think the zipper detail on the side and the buttons going down the front add nice interest to the skirt. I would wear this with a white tank or tee and some flat sandals for day and some booties for night.

Girl of the Blogosphere: Rachel

Name: Rachel
City: New Orleans, LA
Occupation: Architecture Student

Who is your fashion inspiration?
Sincerely, everybody! That's what I love about blogging. My favourite thing is when readers leave a comment, and it leads me back to their blog, and you're there and you think, that's interesting. It makes my day!

Where is your favourite place to shop?
If I had to pick, my top 3 stores are French Connection, Zara and TopShop...in rotating order. Those are my go-to places. Always chic and always affordable.

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
No surprise, I LOVE structure in an outfit. Always have, always will. I'm sure it has something to do with my architectural background. I have always been attracted to the lines and geometry an outfit makes against the human body.

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
Um... I heard scrunchies are making a comeback. Always a no-no.

Why did you start your blog?
I was always an avid reader of fashion blogs. I love the accessibility to see what REAL people are wearing, but I had yet to find a blog that relates fashion to architecture. So, there was my niche. (I actually hope to write a book about the two parallel practices one day.) For me, the most successful blogs are when the author's personality is injected into the posts. Architecture is my personality.

How would you describe your style?
I'm not sure I really have a style, because it changes depending on my mood and how I feel that day. But I like to think there's always a touch of sexy chic. Not over the top - in your face, but just a dash of sex appeal.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this summer?
Sunglasses - they are the ultimate accessory! I try to buy at least one new pair every season. Oh, and a bikini I actually like! I have over 30 pairs, but I don't like any! Maybe it's me and not the bikini! LOL

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
A pair of Dolce & Gabbana heels. Sometimes I lose my mind and think, "I have to have that!"

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?
I bought these beautiful beaded necklaces in Mexico City. They were about 25 cents each, so I bought a bundle. I should do a post about them.

What is one thing that you regret buying?
This is a funny story - I had my molars removed a few years ago. While on pain killers the day after the surgery, I apparently shopped on the internet and bought a $400 LAMB Cashmere zip-up jacket with old english writing all over it. It shows up at my front door a week later, and I have no recollection of buying it! Since it was 20% off, I couldn't return it to the site. The jacket was hideous, but I wore it 'til I got my money out of it! LOL

What is your favourite vacation destination?
I have been fortunate to travel the world through school opportunities. Two years ago, I lived and studied in Paris. For break, I vacationed in the French Riviera. Lots of memories there! It is definitely my favourite place to be.

MinkPink Space Odyssey Mini Dress

Every girl needs a fabulous dress for those nights when she goes out with her girlfriends. This is one of those dresses. I love the asymmetrical neckline and I love that it has a sleeve on the other side. The texture of the fabric looks fabulous and the gold colour is toned down enough that it is totally wearable. I would pair this with booties and black jacket for a night on the town.

Elizabeth & James Blaze Flat Thong Sandals

I think these Elizabeth and James Thong Sandals are a great alternative to flip flops. I will admit that I am a bit of a sucker for comfortable flip flops in the summer months but sometimes I need something a bit more stylish, sometimes flip flops just don't cut it. I love the metallic colour of these sandals. They would look great worn with shorts, jeans and skirts. The ultimate go to sandal.

Marina Makaron Moscow: Cirque

This is our last sneak peak of Marina Makaron Moscow's SS11 and it just so happens to be my favourite of the three. I love the mixture of shapes and the use of colour. I asked Marina of Marina Makaron Moscow what her inspiration was for Cirque and she says, "I saw large scattered shapes over empty spaces, like a village sofa, or a Hawaiian shirt...this is my take on it. LOL"

Drum Vibe

Cirqua Shroom

Drum Dee

Yumi Kim Leah Romper in Blossom

This summer I am loving jumpers. They just seem so effortlessly chic and make you look put together when you aren't really trying. This jumper from Yumi Kim is adorable. It looks super comfortable which is key and the floral print is beautiful. With a print like this you really don't need any accessories. I would wear this with flip flops or flat sandals for a casual day look and dress it up for night with heels.

Girl of the Blogosphere: Justyna

Name: Justyna
City: Ottawa ON, Canada
Occupation: Halston Heritage Sales Rep. & Events Manager

Who is your fashion inspiration?
Ho Hum. If I seriously think about it? Lucille Bluth. No doubt, that lass has class I just need to amass.

What is your favourite place to shop?
I don't really have one...I don't like looking head to toe any company/brand so I'll shop anywhere and everywhere...as long as I get to shop. The tell tale sign of a true addict.

What is your current favourite trend?
Big necklaces, want to amass me some of those! (Wait, is that a trend?)...and I'm trying to bring the fanny pack back.

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
Jeggings . Crocs. Comfort couture like ugh. Lululemon (and yes it is comfy and all that and if you're going to the gym or yoga I have no beef with you, but I actually see girls wear their yoga pants - because they're tight and make their backside look better - with heels. ugh.)

Why did you start your blog?
Impulse decision...needed more fashion in my life...

How would you describe your style?
Old lady chic? I never know how to answer this one...

What is one thing you are dying to buy this spring?
So many things! Basically the entire Halston Heritage line. Including handbags and heels. Realistically? A couple of items from high end lines and more vintage! I'd love a vintage captains hat.

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
My Hermes watch.

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?
Gee whiz, 5 cent candy at the 7 Eleven.

What is the one thing you regret buying?
Nothing too regretful to report on... I plan my purchases out quite well, me think...

What is your favourite vacation destination?
I've always wanted to go to Kenya, but in reality the most recent trip my fiance and I took to southern California was a blast... J'adore San Diego!

Thakoon Addition Luiza Romper

I love Thakoon's designs and this romper is no exception. The print is gorgeous. From far away it looks like a cool black and white print. Up close its tie-dye/bleach. What's not to love?! It's interesting and chic without being totally overwhelming. I love the way that it has been styled in this photo with the booties. All that is missing is some simple silver jewelry. The price is quite high but that doesn't mean I can't admire it from afar. If I had the money I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Tulle Snap Front Strapless Dress

I was reading the blog Unravelled Threads and I saw that Melanie had a giveaway. A $25 gift card from a company called Tulle was up for grabs (still is). The rules for entry said to go to the company's website choose your favourite item and then leave a comment on the blog. Off I went to check out the website and only after did I realize that the giveaway was only open to US residents (insert sad face here). The good news is I discovered a company I had never heard of and I found this dress. Sadly I can't buy it because they only ship within the US (insert sad face here). The good news is I can share it with all of you readers who live in the US. I think this is a perfect little summer dress. The button detailing is super cute and adds interest while keeping the dress casual. The print is also beautiful. I would wear this during the day with flat sandals and at night with wedges.

Sneak Preview of Marina Makaron Moscow SS'11: Charlie

Here is the second of three sneak previews of Marina Makaron Moscow's Spring/Summer 2011. When I asked Marina about her inspiration for Charlie she had this to say: "some people obsess over Elvis, others over Marilyn, I just felt- Charlie! An abstract black and white Charlie. I think I portrayed it about right ;)" Marina sees designing as not only a creative process but also fun that has no guidelines except synergy of colour and shape for the eye. "I just see particular shapes and colours in my mind, perhaps an idea I liked in a glossy magazine or something I saw someone wear. So I start pulling it through my filter of perception onto the screen, playing around with it until it's 'just right'. Sometimes while trying to depict one thing I end up with something completely different (usually the case) but I always have to feel 'this is it'."

Wicked Sunflower

Charlie Choco Bar

Mush Room

Some Kind of Brown

Bowtie Garden

These designs will be available in her New York showroom starting in August.

To see more of Marina's designs go to mmmakaron.com

Check back next Wednesday for the final sneak preview!

Alice + Olivia Drape Skirt with Elastic Waist

I don't usually wear a lot of skirts. I am not sure why but I am really drawn to this Alice + Olivia skirt. First of all its tie-dye and I happen to LOVE tie-dye. It also looks quite comfortable... it has an elastic waist. LOL. I would probably wear this with a plain white tee or tank and perhaps a jacket. I think it would make a great chic look. I am not a fan of heels paired with it in this photo. I think a peep toe pump, wedge or a bootie would be a better choice.
