Look of the Week: Birthday Edition

I was watching some videos on Youtube over the weekend and one of the blogger/vloggers had bought this dress and was showing it in a haul. I immediately stopped the video and headed to ASOS to check it out and I kind of fell in love. If I had the $70 it cost I would have ordered it immediately and worn it for my birthday which just so happens to be today. Wouldn't this be the prettiest birthday dress?

Nail Polish Storage

For the longest time I stored my nail polish like this due to a lack of storage space. I know this probably isn't great for nail polish but I made due with what I had. 

Then my friend Lauren saw the photo above and gave me a little scolding over Twitter so I decided to get a bit organized and divided them into smaller boxes so that they were all standing up (there is more nail polish sitting on my desk at the moment also)

For now this works but what I really want is a nail salon style acrylic shelf unit that I can screw into the wall. How fun would it be to turn my collection into art?

Polka Dot Manicure

I spotted a polka dot manicure similar to this one online the other day and immediately knew I had to try it on myself. It was just too cute to not to DIY it. The original had dots on all the nails but I decided to go for a slightly simpler look and only did the dots on the white nail and I really like how it turned out. I think I'll try this out with different colour combinations just for fun!

Look of the Week: FNO

If I could, I would dress like this tomorrow but sadly none of these items are in my closet. Peplum is such a huge trend this season and has been popping up everywhere. For some reason I haven't gotten my hands on any of these pieces yet but hopefully before fall is over there will be some peplum in my closet (I hope). I think this would be a great look for a Friday night out (FNO). I love the simple black and nude with a tiny bit of colour coming from the turquoise studs.

Cake it's a slice Velveteen Hand Creme

I had always seen Cake products while browsing Sephora (their Strawberry Short Cake line always caught my eye AND nose) but I had never purchased anything so I was super excited when I got one of their hand cremes in a Topbox last fall. Like all Cake products it smells amazing (exactly like a creamsicle) and sinks into the skin nicely without leaving that greasy feeling (which I hate with a passion). Infused with mango and shea butter it kept my hands soft all last winter and now that I'm almost out I'm going to need another one!
