Products I've Used Up

I've been saving empty product containers for months so that I could write this post (my room is beginning to look like a hoardes den) and I can't wait to toss all of these items into the recycling bin. I filmed a YouTube video talking about all of these products and you can watch it below or by clicking HERE
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo: I'm already onto my second tube because this stuff has done wonders for my skin. I was breaking out frequently and this cleared up most of my spots. I still occasionally breakout but they are all fairly small and heal much faster than before.

Lush Let The Good Times Roll Facial Cleanser: I bought this scrub over Christmas and instantly fell in love with it's super fine particles. After finishing the tub I'd say its good but I'll be trying other things.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion: I started using this because my Dad really likes it and now it has become my go to body lotion. It is a bit pricy for a drugstore product but I try to buy it on sale. It is fragrance free which I prefer in a body lotion and it sinks in nicely without leaving any greasy feeling on the skin.

Ren Hydra-Calm Daily Protection Day Cream: I got this little sample at Sephora and I fell in love. It has a bit of a strange unfragranced smell but I liked the way it made my skin feel I was willing to overlook it. The two downsides are it contains no SPF and the price is a bit high so I won't be buying it at the moment but it is on my wish list.

St. Ives Moisturizing Olive Cleanser: I've had this one for a while and it took me over a year to get through it. I didn't think it was particularly moisturizing and the smell was a bit off putting to me. With that being said it is a decent cleanser but I won't be repurchasing it.

Sonia Kashuk Remove Eye Makeup Remover: This is my second bottle of this eye makeup remover and I am currently wishing we could buy it in Canada. It works quite well at removing stubborn waterproof mascara and if I could I would buy this again.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara: This is an essential item for me and I have repurchased it many times. The tiny brush works wonders at getting small bottom lashes coated with mascara. Without fail I end up with mascara on my skin if I try and use a regular mascara wand so I love this.
L'Occitane Fabulous Serum: This is my go to winter serum. It contains 5% shea butter and hyaluronic acid so this is an excellent product for those who have dry skin. I don't need such a rich serum in the summer so I won't be buying this again until the fall when the weather changes again.

Dove Frizz-Proof Cream-Serum: I can't count how many of these I have gone through. For a drugstore product it does a pretty darn good job of taming frizz and keeping hair soft and hydrated without being greasy. Just be careful at the roots, too much will leave you looking like you need a shower.

Aquaphor Lip Repair: I have always been a fan of petroleum based products for the lips and Aquaphor is my current favourite. Nothing else works quite as well at locking in moisutre and keeping lips soft and hydrated.

Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge: I purchased this hoping it would be similar to Garnier's Damage Repair Mask that was recently discontinued because it worked wonders on my tangly hair. Sadly it wasn't quite as good a taming the tangles but it did do a nice job of hydrating my hair.

Lilly Pilly Natural Tea Tree with Rosewood Hand and Body Creme: I kept this little tube in my purse for use on the go because it is one of the few hand creams I have tried that does not leave my feeling sticky or greasy after applying.

Rimmel Volume Max Waterproof Mascara: I'm onto my second tube of this mascara which says something about it because I have never bought the same mascara twice.

Bobbi Brown Corrector: I'm onto my second pot and I think this is definitely an essential in my makeup bag. I have very bad dark circles and this product does an excellent job of brightening up the under eye area. I always use a second concealer afterwards though because this isn't enough to cover the darkness.

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof: I didn't actually finish this mascara but I stopped using it because it smudged so badly on me I thought there was no point in continuing to use it. If you don't have problems with mascara smudging then you might like this because I did like the feathery, volumized look it gave my lashes.

Principessa Bacio Me Lip Balm: Another product I didn't finish because I didn't like the way it tasted. It was also far too runny for my liking and it wasn't doing anything to hydrate or seal in moisture.

  1. Aveeno products are a bit pricer for drugstore products but definitely worth the money in my book. The Aveeno Daily SPF Face Moisturizer was in my last favourites post. I think just about every Aveeno product I've tried I've given a thumbs up to actually, haha. Great post :)

  5. Haha that's always how I feel when I ave things for an empties video. I've been quite interested in trying out he La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, but I just worry too much about trying new products, especially with it being so close to Prom for me, I don't want to react badly to it. I've heard such great things about the Bobbi Brown Corrector too!

  9. Hi Isabel! I was wondering if you've tried LRP micellar water. If so, I think that'd make a perfect, minimalistic skin care routine along with the Effaclar Duo :P
