Walk of Fashion turns 2 today! Two years ago today I was living in Bogota, Colombia and randomly decided to start a blog. I'm so glad I jumped in because I have made some great friends along the way. Thanks for sticking with me for the past two years and here's to another year!

Adriana Castro Small Maya Clutches

I haven't had much use for clutches lately. The cold weather means that I opt to stay in rather than getting dressed up and going out. Who is your fashion inspiration?
Who isn't my fashion inspiration?! I don't think I could ever pinpoint a specific person or even a specific group of people. I love and constantly keep up with celebrity fashion as well as street fashion. I love regularly reading fashion magazines, celebrity blogs, fellow fashion blogs as well as sites like Lookbook.nu and Chictopia!

What is one thing you always carry in your bag?
My camera. I'm obsessed with taking photos of food everywhere I eat at and you never know when you'll stumble into the perfect backdrop for a quick outfit blog post!

What is your current favourite fashion trend?
Oversized chunky knits. I've recently purchased so many, I'm terrified about finding the closet space to squish them all into! I love incorporating oversized anything into my outfits whether it's a bag, accessory, ridiculous platform or particularly right now, sweaters. They're so beautifully warm and cozy as well as very chic. Perfect combination!

What is the current trend you dislike the most?
I'm not sure there's any trend I dislike - mostly because I'm terribly indicisive and constantly changing my mind so if there is anything I dislike right now, chances are I'll end up falling in love with it later. A particular trend might not be so attractive to me but worn a different way or styled with certain peices could possibly make my heart skip a beat.

Why did you start your blog?
I've actually had many many many blogs in the past. Some were just about my daily life, some about love and others about my views on controversial topics. I've basically always enjoyed having an outlet to express my thoughts and opinions. Unfortunately, none of those stuck. I always ended up having writers block or just getting bored of it in general. Fashion has always, always, ALWAYS been my love and passion and I've followed many fashion blogs in the past. Combining the two was just plain perfect and something I enjoy and love doing. It's the perfect outlet for me to express my love for cute clothes, awesome shoes and yummy food.

Who takes your photos for you/ How do your take your photos?
My ever so patient and supportive husband takes them. I've got to give him a lot of props for enduring strange looks from passerbyers and my need to take so many photos!

How would you describe your style?
I don't think I have a particular style. My style really depends on my mood for the day. I can be extremely girly one day, preppy another and totally dark and edgy the next. I dress how I feel and what I'm in the mood for. I would certainly say my style is focused around my shoes for the most part!

What is one thing you are dying to buy this winter?
Every winter, I've wanted to buy a pair of super cute ear muffs but never get around to it. Living in Southern California, I never really have a true need for it except when I'm out late night strolling around a Christmas light enthusiastic neighborhood with friends or in line for a ride at Disneyland in 50 degree weather shivering (which is usually when I remember that I really should get a pair). This year, I am determined! There is nothing more fun that a big pair of furry ear muffs! :)

Are you a shoes or bags kind of girl?
My personal style history would prove both but shoes have definitely been more prominent in my shopping habits the past few years. Actually, hands down, shoes. They are my weakness!

What is one thing that you regret buying?
Absolutely nothing. I shop from my heart (which is quite dangerous now that I think about it) so I usually love everything. If I don't, I always find a good use for it that I will love!

If you could meet one person from the fashion industry/ a fashion icon who would it be?
Is this a dead or alive question? Well, to make it simple, I'll assume alive and my answer would be Sarah Jessica Parker. Sex and the City will forever have my heart.

What is your favourite vacation destination?
New York City - although I love a good vacation resort or beach, I'm much more a fan of a vacation in a big city and NYC is it. Delicious food and incredible shopping - what gets better than that?!

What is one totally random fact you want others to know about you?
I once wore 5 inch platform heels on a spontaneous trip to Universal Studios with my family... and I survived.

Adriana Castro Mini Carriel

Adriana Castro is a Colombian designer based out of Miami and I always manage to fall in love with something when I am browsing her website. I'm half Colombian and when I started blogging I was living in Bogota. Thanks to my heritage I always like to see a Colombian making waves in the fashion world. A carriel is a traditional satchel worn by men and is typical of Antioquia, the region of Colombia that my mom is from. I love this fun and modern take on the traditional bag. I usually gravitate towards bright colours but I think the brown python is my favourite!

Butter London The Black Knight Nail Polish

I received this Butter London polish in the mail just after Christmas and I couldn't wait to try it out. I'm going to say that it looks better in person than it does in photos because I feel like this photograph just isn't doing it justice. It is a very pretty black base polish with lots of blue and pink glitter flecks. I'm a little bit addicted to glitter at the moment so I loved trying it out.

Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe

I borrowed this nail polish from my cousin and I'm kind of obsessed. I layered it over a navy blue so that the base colour would be more intense. The glitter is nothing short of amazing and I think it is beautiful. Please excuse my disgustingly dry hands. It seems that my skin is not reacting well its first full Canadian winter since 2007.

A New Year's Eve Treat: Chocolate Covered Pretzels

This might be the easiest treat I've ever "baked".

And it's delicious.

Lay waffle pretzels on a backing sheet lined with tin foil.

Top each pretzel with a Hershey's Kiss.

Bake at around 300 for 1-2 minutes or until the chocolate looks like this. It should be shiny and starting to lose its shape.

Press an M&M into the top of each Kiss.
Cool & Enjoy!

iTunes Top 25

For some odd reason I just decided to take a look at what the top 25 most played songs on my iTunes were and I thought I would share it with you. With the exception of Lady Gaga I hadn't listened to most of these songs in a few years. It's a blast from the past and I'm currently listening through the entire list. I LOVE that Beyonce's Irreplaceable is #1. I'm pretty sure that came from obsessive listening during a breakup way back in 2006. The rest is an odd mix of dance, pop, latin, soca, dancehall and reggaeton. What do you think my top 25 says about me? Are you guys familiar with all the artists?

Joe Fresh Navy Nail Polish

November TopBox

I recently subscribed to a $10 a month beauty box sampling service called TopBox that is available in Canada. I had been wanting to try a service like this but I wasn't aware that there were in any in Canada. Turns out I was wrong. The products come in a tube instead of a box and is wrapped in kraft paper to cut down on waste which I think is a great idea.

November's box was pretty amazing. I received a full size Cake It's a Slice Velveteen Hand Creme (it smells like a creamsicle), full size Deborah Lippmann Some Enchanted Evening polish, Dr. Brandt Collagen Eye Serum and Stila Lip Glaze in raspberry.

I have already tried all the products and I love them! The Cake hand cream smells delicious and isn't greasy at all which is something I HATE about hand creams. There is nothing worse than greasy hands so this one is perfect for me. Nothing bad can be said about Deborah Lippmann polishes and this pink glitter is beautiful. I had never used a Stila Lip Glaze before but I love the raspberry colour and it feels nice on the lips. The final product I tried is the Dr. Brandt Collagen Eye Serum and it is too soon to see any results but I like the way if feels on the skin.

Masquerade

I usually put no thought into Halloween costumes so I was pretty impressed with myself when I bought a mask a week in advance.

I decided to have a little fun with my makeup by using fake eyelashes and doing a bright red lip. (First time for both!) Note to Canadians: don't use Quo lash glue! It comes out very tacky which makes it hard reposition the lashes if you make a mistake. I had glue strings going everywhere! I also decided to curl my hair which is something I hadn't done before either (I'm usually a flat iron user). I used a one inch curling wand and I was really happy with the result.

I picked the mask up at Aldo and I loved it because it reminded me a lot of a Venetian mask. Unfortunately it used ribbon instead of elastic to secure it in place and it kept slipping down my face which made it very uncomfortable to wear. I gave up on the mask after about an hour.

I'm sorry to say that I took the easy way out when it came to the clothes and simply wore all black.

Joe Fresh Storm Nail Polish

Two weekends ago I spent a good 2 hours obsessing over Nails Inc. colours on Sephora. I decided I NEEDED to buy one of their holiday gift sets that contained some neutral fall colours. Before I hit "purchase" I decided to go through my collection of nail polishes and guess what I found? I already owned either similar or almost exact colours of 3 out of the 4 polishes in the set. One of which I had never used. I think I should make it a rule to sift through my nail polishes before each purchase.

Shopping Tales: Bebe Clutch

After going through a hundred stores I finally found this clutch at Bebe of all places. It is simple yet interesting and works really well with my dress. Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro in Stiletto Red

Surprisingly I don't own very many red polishes. For some reason I never reach for red but I do love a good red nail! I picked up this red Rimmel polish because it was on sale and I figured I would give it a try. Way back in 2006 I painted my nails with Rimmel polish. I owned two, yes TWO colours. A deep red and black. In the fall of 2007 I moved to Korea and I was introduced to colours I had never thought of using on my nails and they haven't been the same since.
